Is anyone else reading this Eisner Award Nominated web comic?
I just read the first chapter and its pretty damned tight.
Minus is pretty amazing too (thanks, Ben).

Heh,
So as I’m flipping through this, one of the banner ads is for McCain ’08…
Also, you might really enjoy DMZ by vertigo if you haven’t checked it out.

DMZ
I got the first issue, maybe two and couldn’t at all get into it.
But thanks!

I’ve read about half of it and it’s pretty cool!

Why are they parodying real events? Straight political cartoons could carry the same message. An allegorical representation like DMZ could create a more evocative version. The Public Works storyline is a good example. Matty grew from his experiences in the early issues.

DMZ didn’t pick up for me until the 4th or 5th issue. It’s got strange pacing. I’m really enjoying it now, but how much of that is the artwork is hard for me to break down. My other Vertigo titles right now are Scalped, 100 Bullets and The Exterminators, all good. I loved the artwork in Loveless, but ended up dropping it – couldn’t connect with the characters and the writing/plotting is pretty opaque. Probably better on a second readthru but didn’t feel worth it to me.
Minus seems pretty neat.

Hey, thanks for that link. I’ll definitely be buying a Shooting War graphic novel when I can.
