Reading: Wendy and Peter in order to get some background for some Peter Pannish fiction I wrote a few weeks ago. Tinkerbell is a jealous psychopath.
I finished The Alchemy of Stone and The Etched City while on vacation and will have to write short mini-reviews of them soon.
Planning: Burning Wheel tonight, D&D on Saturday, prep for classes on Sunday and classes on Monday.
Wearing: Jeans, John’s Go Play NW t-shirt and a brown hoodie.
Writing: Magic rules for Warlock Corner, a 1st Quest setting.
Reading: Gave up on Monchinski’s Eden (for being to cliche and boring) last night and have moved on to Mean Streets.
Planning: A one-shot Obsidian LARP and looking at our convention schedule for the year.
Wearing: Jeans and a comfy sweatshirt
Writing: Mostly editing currently, but after this anthology wraps up I’ll be back to writing my novel.

Reading: “The Revelation” by Bentley Little. Haven’t gotten very far yet though.
Planning: A fun art studio day with friends tomorrow. And going to see Russell perform a solo in a Mozart Requiem performance on Sunday.
Wearing: Pinstripey pants, a brown skull shirt from Target, a black sweater and striped arm warmers. Oh! And socks with foot bones printed on top that give me skele-feet.
Arting: The few Dresden Files pieces that are left and a character design I’m doing for someone.

Reading: “The Escapement” by KJ Parker (volume 3 of the Engineer trilogy) and “The Fall of Constantinople: 1453” by Steven Runciman
Planning: A Star Wars Saga edition short-run game and a Mouse Guard one-shot
Wearing: green denim shirt and khakis
Writing: Not much. I need to work up some feedback/notes on a game a friend is working on and at some point or other write a section about teen psychosocial development for another game, but this isn’t the weekend for it.

Reading: Fellowship of the Ring. Did you know Tolkien is so much more enjoyable when you skip around rather than read straight through?
Also- after having read Moldvay D&D a few weeks back, I’m thinking of digging through Rolemaster as a compare and contrast of old school gaming.
Planning: An actual weekend. Where I’m not doing everything and a half, and I can just chill.
Wearing: Sweats and hoodie.
Writing: Magic Sword, my retro D&D rules based on a mix of Moldvay, Dragon Warriors and Last Remnant.

Good to hear you’re still doing 1st Quest stuff! I’m also looking forward to those mini-reviews. I need some more books to read. I would have bought the first of the Glenn Cook Black Company stuff, but it wasn’t at the bookstore last time I was there.
R: Just finished Chaosium’s Innsmouth Cycle collection. Started up on The Horror Stories of Robert E. Howard. I also just finished listening to a great podcast, The Roman Empire by Isabelle Pafford. Now I’m listening to European Civilization from the Renaissance to the Present which is already fascinating during the very first lecture.
P: Consulting on a cool D&D project for a buddy.
W: Weirdly, a t-shirt that once belonged to my mother-in-law.
W: Nothing. D’oh!

I didn’t care for The Etched City.
Reading: Just finished Patricia McKillip’s latest, The Bell at Sealey Head, which was lovely. Fantasy, Austenesque in some ways, I think deliberately so. And very much a writer’s book, with her writer character constantly working on a story, and the young innkeeper (named Judd) reflecting on the oddity that all voracious readers, including himself, always want more books.
Planning: Singing at GAFilk. Just heard the Suttons singing the “I Am Not a Pagan Polka”, and when they got to the line “Why aren’t you singing?”, they directed the line to, who said, perfectly reasonably, “Because I’m Jewish.” We’ve just recovered from all falling over laughing, and now Crystal’s singing “Ronald Reagan Carl Sagan San Diegan Pagan”.
Wearing: Sneakers, black jeans, Flash Girls t-shirt. is wearing an Eddie and the Fay t-shirt. We are doing this deliberately, as the Secret Guest of GAFilk is Emma Bull.
Writing: My comments on Alarums and Excursions #400 for my zine for the 401st issue.

Watching: you, Jeff and Storn’s first videocast. Highly entertaing.
Reading: re-reading Silence makes me a victim and trying to put an email of thoughts about it together for Clyde.
Planning: Games for Conquest NW this weekend.
Wearing: Jeans and my work boots, t-shirt abandoned due to messy pork roast dinner, or perhaps my enthusiasm for my own cooking is my undoing.
Arguing with myself about: whether i should go have another cigarette before bed. it’s cold out there.
