  1. Reading: Breaking Dawn. Why oh why can’t I stop reading this stupid series?

Planning: A weekend of staying locked in my house.

Wearing: My awesome blue dragon / orange flame shirt. And work pants.

Writing: just my blog these days.

  5. Reading A Game of Thrones. I’m liking it despite the place names. Every major location seems to be named by looking at a map of the land and deciding what to call things rather than how people living on the land would naturally name them. For instance, there’s an isthmus that is over 350 miles wide at its narrowest point. That’s wider than Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This area is called The Neck. Imagine the first settlers to Florida arriving and deciding that they would call that area “The Penis”. I’m surprised that there isn’t a mountain range called The Spine of the World running up the center of the continent.

Anyway, besides that — and it is really a minor point — I’m enjoying the book.

Planning on cleaning the house this morning, shopping, and laundry in preparation for my sister-in-law’s family to visit this weekend. Unfortunately, I’m working all day Sunday at the game store.

Wearing comfy clothing from yesterday in my pre-shower phase.

Designing about 100-200 logo thumbnails for a fictional Mars tourism destination/research facility for my graphic design class.

  9. Reading: International treaty law, bits of Chomsky’s World Orders, Old nad New, news archives. Also still trudging through Extraordinary Engines, but not loving it, so I may put it aside and pick up something to read for fun.

Planning: A baby shower, selling textbooks on Amazon, Ebaying piles of little metal dudes, the next installment of my juvenile D&D campaign.

Wearing: Jeans, t-shirt with gaelic poem on it, green chamois shirt, my favorite cardigan, biker boots, woolly socks.

Writing: Journal stuff, random thoughts on Gaza, some background for the Dozen Dales.

  13. Hooray for more 1st quest!!

R: Glen Cook’s Black Company omnibus. I swear, there’s more interesting-shit-happens-per-page than any other book I can remember. I’m loving it.

    P: A weekend of half-socializing, half-cleaning.

W: A black shirt that says “Smooth Jazz.” It’s very much laundry time.

W: Nothing. I am drawing as a “consultant” on a friend’s 4e project, though. I love drawing me some monsters.

  17. Reading: The SFWA European Hall of Fame. 16 sf stories from non-English speaking countries, in translation. I’m about 2/3 of the way through. It kicks ass, and is put together well, like a good album. Very different stories, very different ways of looking at the world and at sf.

Planning: Meeting at Games Club in Exile.

Wearing: Masks GM T-Shirt, silk longjohns rated for three icicles, cordourys, and winter boots.

Writing: Larp stuff for Presque Vue, our new larp for Intercon I, with . About a month to go. Ack! Fortunately, as says, this is the 9-and-a-halfth hour, not the eleventh hour.
