Then it was time to hit the belief:
I will write a treatise on the Cult of Sargon; I will summon Obias and pay his price.
This got together with my instinct:
Never allow otherworldly beings to wander our world unchaperoned.
and had a party.
Enter the Pig-God.
This is rekindling my interest in one-on-one gaming…
…and Burning Wheel, for that matter. The group sessions I read about always leave me cold, but without fail reading about a one-on-one Burning Wheel game always gets me jazzed. Maybe there’s something about the system that must makes those kind of games work well?
Hopefully I can make some one-on-one gaming happen myself in the next month or so. Thanks for bringing this back to the front of my brain!
Anyway, great post. Pig-God for the win!
Re: This is rekindling my interest in one-on-one gaming…
BW is a crunchy dense game. It is not for everyone.
I like it for solo gaming with Storn because we both dig the system and we’re both good at poking at the Beliefs and Instincts on our character sheets.
There are plenty of games solid for solo games: Trollbabe, Sorcerer, and Beast Hunters come to mind immediately.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked the post.
