Sleep Dep Friday

Reading: A late night work schedule destroyed my reading times but still reading about Ghengis.

Planning: Hopefully, getting some heat in my apartment and a weekend with the lady-friend.

Wearing: Grey shirt and jeans with a hoodie.

Writing: Looked at the 7 Kings Mountains and just found all of the parts of it that I wanted to write and started outlining and writing the scenes that excited me. It is nice to have a go-to writing project with some structure to it.

And you?

  1. R: Finishing up Hound of the Baskervilles (audiobook). Halfway through Asimov’s Foundation. Hopefully picking up that Ghengis book from the library tomorrow.

P: A big work week next week.

W: Brown jeans, plaid shoes, brown shirt, plaid overshirt.

W: Nothing, really. I’m partway through a cool Google Docs spreadsheet 4e character sheet, but it’s multiple worksheets so I don’t think it can be templated. If you’re interested, I can share it out.

  4. Reading Peter F. Hamilton’s The Dreaming Void. I was surprised that it was a sequel of sorts to his Commonwealth Saga books Pandora’s Star and Judas Unchained.

Planning our local gaming convention which opens doors in exactly one week and twenty six minutes from now.

Wearing blue jeans, white dress shirt, and birkies.

Writing an e-mail to a prospective employer asking if we can reschedule the interview they want me to attend exactly one week and twenty six minutes from now. (See “Planning”.)

  7. Reading: The Neverending Story. The events of the film are covered in the first half of the book. Getting into the second half now, which explores the fallout of Bastian being able to wish for anything he wants. Good stuff.

Planning: Running Ghost/Echo tonight, and PTA on Sunday night. Both are fun, with great players and a great story, but honestly I’ll be happy when I’m just a player again. Story Games allow me to be a passable GM, but right now I just want one character to immerse in and advocate for.

Greek Festival with the family on Saturday, maybe see Surrogates at the theater.

Wearing: Office casual, same as always, now with long sleeves for Autumn.

Creating: Binding a book on a sewing frame for the first time.

  10. I just finished reading an AWESOME book: Paragea by Chris Roberson. If you like books like Kane of Old Mars or John Carter of Mars, or any of that alt. past sort of fplanetary romance stuff you’ll LOVE this book!

Quick Synopsis: 2nd female cosmonaut is launched into space where she promptly disappears only to find herself hurtling towards a different planet. She crashes is captured by Jaguarmen and then rescued by the deposed prince of said jaguarmen and his best friend Hieronymus Bonaventure of HMS Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. They try to find a way for her home and meet all sorts of strange and wondrous creatures and have cool adventures. Definitely, a must read. šŸ™‚

  13. Seems like the whole time zone is sleep deprived, or at least, me, my wife, my Mom, my brother, my daughter, and everyone at work, and Judd.

    Reading: Mouse Guard
Planning: A weekend catching up on the house; too much gaming lately has left it a disaster.
Wearing: Weekend polo shirt and weekend jeans.
Writing: More blog posts to build a buffer (day 67 of 100 straight blogging days! Go me!)

  16. Reading: Rough Magicks for Trail of Cthulhu.

Planning: Finding a lawyer to help deal with my father’s estate. Finding a job. Cleaning the apartment.

Wearing: T-shirt for the 25th World Fantasy Convention, white jeans, socks.

Writing: Write up of this weekend’s larp, Lullaby of Broadway 2: And All That Jazz. Very draining, with much unforced in character crying for a lot of people. Also a lot of macabre humor, as folks generally chose to go for the doomed endings — although the players with PCs from Chess apparently managed to have a happy ending!
