Thursday Night Band of Blades

More about Band of Blades…

Which is to say tonight the Legion, shattered from the slaughter at the Battle of Ettenmark Fields, grabbed some blackshot and supplies from Black Oak Knights and their Hounds. Their officer, Ache, was killed by a combination of the Horned One’s efforts, Split’s marksmanship and Black Lotus, the Heavy, dropping a tree on the bastard. Officer Opal ran a tight mission – the medic never even had to heal a wound.

Led by Split, the Sniper, the battallion was hunched over in a broken tower that was leaning like a drunk on sentry duty. It was Grim, the Medic and Black Lotus, the Heavy. And there was a Rookie everyone just called Rook.

Anthony said a smart thing when we were rushing through our Campaign Actions, reminding us that we need to stop in the midst of these robust mechanics that we are getting used to and be in the moment. Even if it is just a tiny detail we draw out of the fiction to make it feel like we lived it a bit. It was a good reminder.

Anthony had an interesting request. “I don’t want these clans of plainsfolk to die. I want them to help us at Skydagger Keep. Can I talk to Horse Lady Tsaga and convince her?”

We were gaining some system mastery when we were playing consistently but I needed to take a break for a bit. It was nice to be back at it. I could sense some frustration with the game mechanics talk/game play talk but we’ll find the right ratio with time.
